Guest Post Luton Shopmobility – Jayn Harris Manager
Luton BID has the vision to promote Luton and ensure that the town centre is accessible and appealing. They are also providing a safe, attractive and appealing experience for visitors and workers in the town.
Luton BID are aiming to build on the strengths of the businesses in the town centre, to support and promote growth, development, investment and a sense of business community.
In April 2019 I registered our interest in the Luton BID Mystery Shopping Scheme. We would all be unaware of the actual visit, including me.
The scheme is designed to identify, enhance and recognise customer service excellence in the Luton Town centre.
The visits by the Mystery Shoppers will help to improve Luton and to enhance the customer experience.
I wanted to get involved to ensure that I understood the customer’s perspective when visiting Luton Shopmobility.
The Mystery Shopper visited us in June. The results we received are amazing we gained the Silver accreditation and it also highlighted a few issues that I need to address.
The outside of the building proved to be 100%. However, we lost points because a member of staff was not wearing the charities uniform.
Our knowledge of the town also needs to be updated. On the whole I was pleased with the overall score of 77% – Going for Gold next year.
Pam & I went along to the Awards night and we were both overwhelmed when they announced our Silver Certificate of Participation. Pam & I walked up on the stage to cheering, whistling and clapping from the audience. So very proud.
